Singing Me Home

(Scott Beck)
Walking through meadows – waist-deep in flowers
So many colors – like rainbows on stems
Feeling the warmth of the sun on my shoulders
Brings forth a smile – again and again

Off in my daydream – a cloud casts its shadow
Dancing across all the valleys below
High up above me – a raven is calling
The song of the Spirit is singing – singing me home

Late in the evening – my head on my pillow
Thoughts of the people I love cross my mind
Sending them prayers from my heart I am knowing
All of my blessings – each they will find

Drifting off slowly – I hear songs of angels
Raising their voices in heavenly tones
Wrapping their wings all around me and glowing
The song of the Spirit is singing – singing me home

Falling into Dreamland – I find things unfolding
Sometimes what I see – makes no sense to me
Running on water – or flying past a mountain
As the raven then calls out to me – “Here, you are free”

Sunrise awakens – the daylight awaits me
Remnants of Dreamland – I’m hoping to find
Vaguely I turn to my love, there beside me
Suddenly everything slips from my mind

Feeling the warmth of my touch on her shoulder
Brings forth a smile – again and again
Kissing me softly – she whispers: “I love you”
The song of the Spirit is singing
Oh the song of the Spirit keeps singing
Yes, the song of the Spirit is singing – singing me home
